One stump or hundreds, any species, ground out clean with our own turbo diesel machine anywhere from Sarasota to Punta Gorda.

A stump left in the ground is a trip hazard, it eats mower blades, and it is in the way of anything you want to plant or build in that spot. Grinding takes it out so the ground is usable again. We handle one stump in a front yard or hundreds across an acreage, and we do it with our own turbo diesel grinder. It is our machine, not a rental, so your date is not tied to a rental yard.
Oak, palm, pine, ficus. Standing after a removal or blown over in a storm, the size of the stump is rarely the problem. We grind to the depth the spot needs, which matters if you plan to replant, lay sod, or pour something over it. The site gets cleaned up before we pull off the property.
We have an ISA Certified Arborist on staff, we carry workers compensation and general liability insurance, and estimates are free. If we are already on site taking a tree down, the stump can be handled on the same visit.
Different trees grind differently. Palm is fibrous and stringy. Oak is dense and hard on teeth. Ficus roots run out wide, so there is usually more to deal with than the part you can see. The machine handles all of it, and the operator adjusts to what is in front of him.
Count is not a problem either. A single stump by the driveway gets the same attention as a whole lot full of them after a clearing job.
After a storm you are often left with something worse than a stump. The tree is on its side and the root plate is pulled halfway out of the ground. That is a different job than a flat cut stump, and a small machine is usually not enough for it.
We have worked hurricane cleanup up and down the coast, so tipped trees and lifted root balls are familiar ground. We can grind the stump down, deal with the root plate, and knock the hole back down so the yard is safe to walk on again.
Most people would rather not schedule two companies and two visits. We take trees down and we grind stumps, so both can happen on the same job. Tell us up front that you want the stump gone and we will price it into the removal.
If another company took the tree down and left you the stump, that is fine too. We grind plenty of stumps we did not cut.
Two things decide how a stump job goes. The first is access. Gate width, slope, soft ground and how far the machine has to travel all matter. Send a photo of the gate or the side yard and we will tell you what we need.
The second is what is buried near the stump. Irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, low voltage lighting and invisible fence wire tend to live right where the roots are. Point out anything you know about before we start and we will work around it.
Communities and property managers usually have a list, not a stump. Common area trees that came out over the last few years, a row along a lake bank, a preserve edge that got cleaned up. We will walk the property, count them, and give you one number for the whole list.
We work with a lot of the same communities and property managers year after year, so we are used to scheduling around residents, mowing crews and events.
Stump grinding looks simple until you watch a worn out rental machine skate across a hard oak stump. Equipment that is maintained, an operator who does this every week, and a clean site at the end are the whole difference.
Every photo on this page is an ACI job. No stock images.
It depends on what happens next in that spot. Tell us if you are replanting, laying sod or pouring something over it and we will grind to suit. If you just want the stump gone, we take it below grade so the lawn can close back over it.
Yes. We grind stumps we did not cut all the time. Send a photo and rough measurement across the top and we can usually quote it from that.
They can stay in the hole as backfill, which is what a lot of homeowners ask for, or we can take care of them. Tell us what you want done with them and we will include it in the estimate.
Usually. Gate width and ground conditions decide it. Send a photo of the gate and the path from the driveway and we will tell you before we schedule, not after we show up.
Yes. Palms grind differently than hardwood because the material is fibrous rather than dense, but they come out the same way. Cabbage palm, queen palm and the rest are all routine for us.
It depends on the size, the species, how many there are and how hard the stump is to reach. Estimates are free and there is no obligation, so text us a photo and we will get you a number.
