What fails first in a Sarasota storm

The pattern repeats. Laurel oaks that were already hollow at the base snap or uproot. Live oaks that have never been pruned and carry a heavy one sided limb over the house lose that limb. Slash pines left standing alone when the ground around them was cleared take the full wind by themselves and go. The First Hours After the Storm

Trees on structures come first. We get the weight off the house, make the area safe and get a tarp over the opening before the next rain band arrives. That order matters. Once the roof is open, water gets into the ceilings, the insulation and the drywall, and the repair bill grows every time it rains.
